The training was a result of a need presented by BG units to prepare a course that would increase the competences of BG officers starting their work in foreigners’ affairs sections. Therefore this activity was directed at BG officers preparing to start their work in such sections.

During the course the lecturers discussed such topics as: using proper legal grounds for actions undertaken towards foreigners, distinguishing and recognising various documents that allow foreigners to remain on the territory of Poland together with rights and obligations connected with such documents. Another aspect discussed was how to conduct and record the checks on legality of stay or employment of foreigners, as well as check related to foreigners conducting business in Poland. The participants were familiarised with the procedure of returning and accepting people on the territory of Poland based on the national laws and international agreements. The general rules on leading administrative proceedings related to foreigners were also discussed during the meeting.
