EU law related to the functioning of the Schengen area and the Common European Asylum System, as well as their usage taking into account the authorities of the Head of the Office for Foreigners, provincial governors and the Border Guard

From 18 to 22 April, 2016 the lecturers of Foreigners’ Affairs Department of the Border Guard Centre for Specialised Training in Luban carried out the advanced training course “EU law related to the functioning of the Schengen area and the Common European Asylum System, as well as their usage taking into account the authorities of the Head of the Office for Foreigners, provincial governors and the Border Guard“. The training was directed at people that conduct the duties related to immigration laws and international protection. The course’s content included such items as: the rules of functioning of the European Union and EU laws, Schengen regulations in relation to legal systems of European Union and associated countries. Furthermore the participants discussed also the issues of free movement and stay on the territory of Member states, UE policy related to border control, EU visa policy, EU asylum policy , EU immigration policy and UE policy on combating irregular migration.

 The participants of the course were the officers from various Border Guard Regional Units and Border Guard Headquarters, the representatives of the Office for Foreigners and Regional Government Offices.

 The training was co-financed in the frames of Norway Grants project No. 26/ NMF PL 15/14.
