From 01 to 04 March 2016 the workshop ‘Properties of public bodies in cases related to foreigners’ was held in the Border Guard Centre for Specialised Training in Luban.
During the meeting the participants were familiarised with competences of proper public bodies dealing with foreigners’ matters. The workshops were prepared for people working in Foreigners Groups of Border Guard Outposts and Foreigners Departments of Border Guard Regional Units, as well as employees of the Office for Foreigners and departments of Local Government Offices responsible for foreigners matters.
The main aim of the meeting was to learn about the legal grounds, statutory powers, role, subject-matter and territorial jurisdiction of particular bodies, as well as specifying their competences in terms of cases related to foreigners. Furthermore, during the workshops, the participants were familiarised with methods and forms of cooperation between offices and cooperation between state bodies and international organisations or NGOs responsible for foreigners’ matters.
One of the elements of the workshops was a study visit to the Border Guard Outpost in Zgorzelec, where the participants learned about the rules of marking the state border on the example of Polish-German border.
The participants of the training were the representatives of various Border Guard Regional Bodies, Local Government Offices and the Office for Foreigners.
The workshop was co-financed in the frames of Norway Grants project No. 26/NMF PL 15/14.
